We restore old cloudy headlights and taillights to a like new clear finish.
We have developed a process that consistently produces great results.
We sand off the old UV damaged plastic from your lenses and polish the plastic back to a like new shine. This is not a wipe-on temporary fix.
There just isn't an easy wipe-on solution. Bug spray (DEET) , Acetone, W-D 40 and other chemicals actually damage the plastic by melting the lens which leave it sticky and susceptible to further damage, and become cloudy in days or weeks. Toothpaste and other household abrasives are too weak to get the old UV damaged plastic off.
DIY headlight restoration kits using sandpaper do an OK job but leave visible scratches or do not completely get through to the damaged plastic. The good ones last up to a year. If you purchase the materials to do what we do to get results we get, it would cost you about what we charge plus two or more hours of your time.

John came out to my house to renew our truck’s headlights. The headlights were very cloudy and dim before. Afterwards, it was night and day. The lights are brighter and the truck simply looks a lot better. It makes the truck look newer. It’s worth the cost! Call them, they can likely come to you. - Maria

What causes headlights to get cloudy, and how can prevent it?
Number one cause of cloudy and yellow headlights is damage from ultraviolet rays from the sun. Like any plastic, the sun damages the plastic. You have noticed a plastic object fades and becomes brittle if left out in the sun. Auto manufacturers use hi-tech materials to slow this process down, but even your BMW’s headlights will succumb to the sun sooner or later. Many car companies use a clear coat on headlights to protect your lights. Even that eventually wears down over time and you'll see the tops of the headlights start to yellow or get a haze.
The number two contributing factor is heat from the bulbs inside the lens. The double whammy cooks the plastic from both sides, causing the plastic on the outside to turn yellow.
The third culprit is time. Older plastics break down.
How can I prolong the life of my headlights? First limit the sun exposure. Keeping the car in the garage or carport is the best thing you can do for the car's paint and the headlights. If that is not an option, park the car in the shade or facing away from the sun whenever possible.
You may be tempted to put a brighter bulb or higher intensity bulb in as a way of compensating for the hazy lens, but that will cause the problem to get worse. Some headlights can actually burn a hole in the lens from the brighter bulbs. Stick with the OEM recommendation or a LED that includes a cooling fan.
My last recommendation is to keep your lens clean and use a clear coat UV protectant, not a clear coat paint. Avoid treatments that “bake” a coating onto the lens, remember heat is the enemy of plastic. Those coatings usually peel off after a year or two.
